Drake’s back with another ultimate album

Ntombovuyo Ngaphu |

Aubrey Graham Drake is back with another ultimate album to soothe the heart and inspire the soul, for the love of hip hop music. Nothing was the same is Drake’s third studio album released by OVO Sound,  Young Money Entertainment, Republic records and Cash Money Records on September 24, 2013.

This is a 15 track album produced by  Naoh “40” Shebib  in collaboration with other OVO Sound producers.  Drake also worked with 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Jhene Aiko, Sampha and Jay Z  in this great album.

Wu-Tang Forever” was released as a promotional single for the album and four successful singles which came out from it include, “Started from the Bottom, “All Me” featuring 2 Chainz  and Big Sean, “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, featuring Majid Jordan and “Pound Cake” featuring Jay Z.

The album cover was made by Kadir Nelson. It has two versions which show pictures of Drake as a child and the other one shows him as an adult.  According to Drake, the artwork displays the fact that he is in his most clear and concise thoughts from now and his previous best recollection.

During an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Drake explained the difference between this album and Take Care. Take Care was about him connecting to his city and his past and the guilt he felt for not being in love with one of the girls that cared for him in the past.

However, with Nothing Was the Same, Drake just wants to sing about the challenges that the world is faced with, continue creating jobs for people and make everlasting memories for people with his music.

Drake’s current musical direction is inspired by  Marvin Gaye’s 1978 double album, Here, My Dear. I am deeply inspired by his passion to improve other people’s lives.

Nothing Was the Same sold 685 000 copies during the first week of its release and it was rated number one on the US Billboard 200.  This is one of the best hip hop albums of the year and hopefully, it will remain one of the greatest albums in history.

It was also given a score of 80 at Matacritic based on 29 reviews by music critics.  You can listen to the album when you are just hanging out with your friends or when you are bored and in need of some inspiration.

Drake’s music is unique and that is what makes him the best. His soft voice and his brilliant lyrics will make you just want to relax and enjoy the vibe. Sometimes you may want to sing along with him but either way, you will still be enjoying his soul-touching music.

If you don’t have it already, go grab yourself a copy of Nothing Was the Same today, i promise you will not regret it.

  3. this is a great review more especially because it does not say critical stuff about the beloved drizzy drake. Drake made it clear that he hates being called ’emotional’. i don’t understand why people keep on making claims that Drake is an ’emotional’ rapper. Geez, ppl must get a life and leave Drake alone.
