British boy band, The Wanted, formed in 2009 and made their debut in July 2012 (Wikipedia, 2012). The group is currently managed by Scooter Braun, and is signed to Island Records in the United Kingdom and Mercury Records in the United States, and is comprised of members; Max George, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker, Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran (Wikipedia, 2012).
The group’s debut album, The Wanted, was released on 25 October 2010 and peaked at number 4 in the UK (Wikipedia, 2012). This album had three UK top twenty singles released from it. This included their debut single, ‘All Time Low’ which reached number one, ‘Heart Vacancy’ which reached number two and ‘Lose my mind’ which peaked at number 19 in the United Kingdom (Wikipedia, 2012).
Battleground, the group’s second album was release on 4 November 2011 and reached numbers 5 and 4 in the United Kingdom and Ireland respectively (Wikipedia, 2012). The lead single from the album “Gold Forever” was released in aid of Comic Relief and reached number three on the UK Singles Chart (Wikipedia, 2012).
The Wanted began to see success in the US and Canada early in 2012, with hit single “Glad You Came” selling three million copies there, and reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 whilst their second single “Chasing The Sun” has become their 2nd song to feature on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and was ranked number 1 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart (Wikipedia, 2012).
The album, The Wanted was released on October 22, 2010 through Geffen Records and is available in multiple editions (Wikipedia, 2012). The majority of the songs on the album were written by the band; with help from songwriters such as Steve Mac, Wayne Hector, Ed Drewett, Lucas Secon, Lukas Hilbert and Alexander Kronlund (Wikipedia, 2012). The Wanted is the ‘first boy band since The Blues, to have their debut studio album premiere at number one on the charts without a TV show'(Wikipedia, 2012).
The album, The Wanted, consists of 13 tracks which include; ‘All Time Low’, ‘Heart Vacancy’, ‘Lose My Mind’, ‘Replace Your Heart’, ‘Hi and Low’, ‘Let’s Get Ugly’, ‘Say It On The Radio’, ‘Golden’, ‘Weakness’, ‘Personal Soldier’, ‘Behind Bars’, ‘Made’, ‘A Good Day For Love To Die’, and ‘The Way I Feel’ (Wikipedia, 2012).
